David Aylor, the attorney for Alex Stone, 16 year old Summerville High School student arrested for writing about killing his neighbors pet dinosaur in an assignment to write a mock facebook post (given by the teacher), says he had a learning disability. Aylor adds, “unless there is dinosaur blood, he’s not guilty.” Stone still faces criminal charges of disorderly conduct.

THE DETAILS On November 22, 2012, James Wright Foley, a freelance photo journalist, was taken by an organized gang after departing from an internet café in Binesh, Syria. Foley had employed a translator to help him travel across the Syrian-Turkish border. The translator was also taken, but later released.
ISIS released a video bragging about how they have beheaded U.S. freelance journalist James Foley, who was taken prisoner in Syria in 2012. Another U.S. journalist shown in the video who is believed to be Steven Sotloff, was captured at the Syria-Turkey border in 2013. ISIS stated that he will be killed as well, if the U.S. does not comply with all of their demands.

A 16 YEAR OLD – Summerville High School student was suspended and arrested after he wrote about shooting a dinosaur.
Alex Stone said he and his classmates were given an assignment to write a few sentences about themselves, and a “status” as if though it was a Facebook page.
Stone said in his “status” he wrote a fictional story that involved the words “gun” and “take care of business.”
“I killed my neighbor’s pet dinosaur, and, then, in the next status I said I bought the gun to take care of the business,” Stone said.

Didn’t the kids of Sullivans Island and Isle of Palms get just as good of an education with the quality staff, teachers and parents when they were in the old Mamie Whitesides building? How much is the insurance on an Oceanfront School? Why doesn’t Charleston County think through what is the best use of resources, like selling the Oceanfront land for perhaps enough money to build a new school instead of having so much capital tied up in the dirt/sand? Everyone wonder why Charleston County schools are underfunded and overcrowded?
Notice that no one is talking except Speaker Bobby Harrell about his case ending? ….sounds like an episode of corruption right out of the TV show Dallas with JR Ewing. He announced that the Attorney General referred his case out; he announced that The Grand Jury had expired. Is this the same Speaker that has been acting criminal all along? Attacking reporters, strong-arming the paper, trying to strip the Atty. General of power? Yes? But what is the truth about Bobby Harrell’s ethics investigation.
Look at these photos. Is this what we are trying to save on Coleman and other roadways in the Charleston area? These pictures are long-standing buildings along Coleman Blvd near the controversial parking garage/office building and Boulevard apartments that everyone is upset about. Are you saying this is the “looking and feel” we are trying to keep in favor of modern and clean construction? Tires? Cars on blocks, dumpsters, rotten car washes? Bryan gets into the research and what’s going to happen to Charleston, Mount Pleasant and Summerville if we don’t get our planning right.
