Nazi HOA’s create tension in Mt. Pleasant Communities.

Here’s an exchange from a Mt. Pleasant community discussing their stupid Trash Cans. Wonder where the sense of community went in our Nation? It went the way of some Nazi HOA manager who is power hungry sending out fines, walking the neighborhood with clipboards, sending owners time-date stamped photos of their trash can staying out past dinner. This is what creates the real wars between neighbors and it should be outlawed not just locally, but by our state as a form of Harrassment. This exchange is regarding whether a trash can should sit next to a garage or behind the fence. (Below audio widget and photos):

What’s even more amazing is that a Board of a Home Owners’ Association would start policing the city trash cans of residents that are sitting next to garages given the 7 porta-potties and 6 dumpsters that are in the community. One lot even has a broken desk chair sitting idle.

Just to point out….my cans are stored behind my fence…..sorry if I get home late for work and miss the bullsh*t window to pull them back….whoever is monitoring better provide date/time stamped photos if I fall outside of the pullback window. …

Additionally if I wasn’t following the rules I can accept the fine….but I am and I don’t appreciate this harassment.

I received the same one. I never got a warning letter and I also keep my garbage cans behind my fence. I work late hours too and sometimes don’t get home until 10pm. I understand the rule if someone … View more

I’ll be there. I received a fine informing me that I had received a prior warning. Not true – no prior warning. In fact, I had informed them that I was building a pool and a fence for the cans (and received permission, a temporary situation that is now remedied). I called upon receiving the letter two weeks ago and they have been unresponsive.

I got one too. No warning. I did leave it out for multiple days while I had surgery. They smell great in my garage right now so I wish I had moved them sooner!

My suggestion is that we all leave this HOA Nazi controlled Next Door App and move to a Facebook page I’ve created where we can freely share information and follow details that is not controlled by some anointed-one at the HOA. https://www.facebook.com/watermarksubdiv…

Brian and others who are referring to the HOA as “Nazi” controlled, I would suggest you consider your extremely derogatory language on a public forum. That term has no business in comparing our fellow neighbors regardless of your views of the HOA enforcement.

Your comment comparing the HOA to Nazis is repulsive. As I recall, the Nazis brutally murdered 6 million human beings.

Let’s refrain from name calling. But I think emotions are running high. I am guilty of that as well at times. It’s worth a fair dialog. The fact that a hostile environment is being created needs to be addressed. It should start and end with community leadership. We are neighbors. Let’s not forget this.

Bryan, I find your comments about trash cans interesting…in the 7 months I’ve lived in the neighborhood, your trashcan has had a permanent residence at the edge of the alley(as you call it). It’s funny now that this issue is coming to a head you finally moved your trash can up beside your garage. Really?

Danny. I find it wonderful that you have time to watch my trashcan. I”m sorry – I have a life, a family, kids and a career. Yes, my trash can has spent a lot of time out by the trash in the alley … View more

Stephanie: This is not a dictatorship and we shouldn’t have to appeal about a trash can in an alley: PERIOD. That’s what ruins neighborhoods. And, I can’t speak for everyone else, but I suppose many people are traveling with family and careers than spending time at HOA meetings discussing trash cans. Clearly people are upset by this and the HOA should back off.

Bridgette – to your concerns: I use a shredder so I am not concerned with identity theft. I have had no animal issues. I have had contractors blocking my alley issues repeatedly, but we’ve tried to be accepting and let that pass. Asthetics: Alleys are not for driving through the community; they are for service access to garages, utilities, etc. The streets and “viewing a can from the street” – I agree (although fines at this stage are out of place), but not the alleys.

Botched Execution? Bryan gets bombarded with solutions. One caller will shock you!

Wait until you hear what the last caller thinks we should do. He’ll catch you by surprise, and it will give the Murders a chance to come to peace in a matter of seconds!
Arizona’s Joseph Wood, who shot his ex-girlfriend and her father in 1989, was pronounced dead one hour and 57 minutes after the execution started. Bryan also shares early in the audio WHY these executions have suddenly started to be a problem. The shocking reason that the activists who are calling for more humane treatment have created this very problem….

Berkeley County School Board says, “NO” to Dads being involved in sports!

Berkeley County School Board, ignoring that 1 in 3 kids has no father involved says “NO” to dads who want to spend time with their kids coaching sports. “This is ridiculous.” They ignored a petition of over 500 people to stop this lunacy.

Racial Profling? Really? It’s private property and the officer may have stopped a #Chs mass shooting!

The ACLU and NAACP in Charleston is questioning the Charleston Police’s Stop and Frisk policy on the heals of the 19 year old death of Denzel Curnell, who committed suicide in front of Officer Jamal Medlin. The real question here should be does the owner of the Bridgeview Apartments have the right to pay an off duty police officer to secure his common areas after dark? This is not about the police and racial profiling as this officer was working for a property owner at the time of this event.

The question the community should be asking of the Charleston Police is not “is its stop and frisk policy racial profiling,” but, instead, asking, “did Medlin stop a mass shooting at Bridgeview Apartments?” What was Curnell planning to do with that stolen gun before being stopped by the officer and killing himself?

The “Dream” of transforming a community. The “Battle” of the Churches.

It was very evident in a recent article in the Post and Courier that one Church Leader is against Seacoast Church helping the community of Ardmore in West Ashley. In fact her shocking comments about the mission of the two Churches couldn’t have been more judgmental. What did she say?

Then, there was the very reasonable caller, Randolph, a resident of the community amidst the discussion about solutions for poverty crime and drugs in our community. He said, he was welcoming to Seacoast and simply wanted everyone to sit down and find solutions, leaving “Hope” as being the new headline of this story.

West Ashley Community worried that Church might make a positive difference!

Seacoast Church bought a property in the Ardmore Community of West Ashley to open a Dream Center. A similar effort has led to a 75% reduction in crime and a huge lift in opportunity for an impoverished area of North Charleston. But, local community leaders are saying it may change the fabric of the community. Are they in denial of their problems or afraid of this one thing that might undermine the whole “Woe, is me” argument?
